A Unified Salvation History

Expository preaching can only proceed if it places the text into the salvation-historical context so that its inter-textual relationship can be seen. Without a sense of this unifying structure in salvation history the Bible becomes fragmented and the road from text to hearer is a matter of the preacher's intuition, preference, or prejudice.
