That's a great quote! Have you read King's book On Writing? It's full of excellent advice for writers plus his life story. On Writing is actually the first King book I ever read. I don't like horror, so I avoided his fiction. But, after reading On Writing, I have read a few of his less scary books and WOW. He is so talented!
